The following five pages show the years Johnnie Corrigan coached at Powhattan High School. They are separated by decades to make it easier for volunteers to find years they are interested in.
For myself, Jerry Draney I attended PHS during 1949, 50, 51 and 52.  My brother, Edwin Draney, played on the 45 team that went to the State.
So I am interested in reading about their games.  Also, I first read about this project in the Hiawatha World where it was stated that Steven Farney ask specifically for years 1942 and 1952 researched for the book he is writing.  I became immediately interested in those two teams and started to discover how to conduct the research.  The 1942 was such a great team and I remember seeing them play in Powhattan and I remember Dick Pfister especially.  He was one of the players I tried to imitate when I started playing.  Going to the State four years in a row must have been a great experience.  I can understand why people want to research those teams and there is no reason why more than one person can research the same team and share what they find.
People who want to volunteer should find a team they like. If someone else is working on it, notify the person and tell them you want to research also.  I still find many things I overlooked in the past.  I think we are all getting a little better about how to conduct searches in digitized news paper
.
There should be no reason why we cannot cooperate and share what we find and if we find a new place to find digitized newspapers we should share that also.  Together we can make it happen that we complete all of the years.  Then we can all celebrate together.
